Report a road or pavement issue that poses immediate risk to public safety.

You can report an issue that presents an immediate risk to public safety 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - phone 01243 642105.

The out-of-hours service will, if possible, arrange for the Highways team to attend the issue within two hours of reporting.

Other examples include:

  • large dead animals causing obstruction to the road (cattle, deer, horse)
  • structure collapse (bridge, wall, scaffold, hoarding)
  • traffic signals not working
  • sinkhole
  • road traffic accidents resulting in debris, or spillages on the highway, such as:
    • diesel or oil
    • toxic or hazardous materials
    • oil or paint

If it is not posing an immediate risk, report online to allow our Highways team to attend urgent issues.

Burst pipes or water mains are dealt with by the appropriate water utility company:

A23, A27, M23 and M27 issues
