What is hazardous waste?
Hazardous waste is any form of waste which can harm human health or the environment, or is difficult to handle. It must be separated from general waste before disposal.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Asbestos
- Appliances
- Batteries (household or car)
- Cleaning products
- Flammable materials
- Explosives (for example fireworks or flares)
- Fire extinguishers
- Fluorescent tubes
- Garden chemicals
- Gas bottles
- Electrical and electronic equipment.
