Our roles and pay

  • As an Educational Psychologist you will provide educational psychology services through advice, consultation, assessment, training, research and evaluation.

    The service:

    • undertakes statutory assessments based on person centred approaches
    • delivers a core offer to schools, including consultation meetings and SENCO Solution Circles
    • has a chargeable service focussed on wellbeing which enables us to offer a range of evidence-based support to schools and other settings, including consultation and training. We have a well-developed Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) programme and lead on the countywide Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) support, in addition to Educational Psychologists contributing to other services such as our Virtual School
    • provides support for schools following a sad event or critical incident.
  • A role for an aspiring Educational Psychologist who supports the service in applying psychology to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEN and additional educational needs.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Contribute positively to service delivery, working under the supervision of an Educational Psychologist.
    • Support the provision of statutory, core and chargeable educational psychology services to a local area.
    • Provide interventions in schools and other settings as directed by the supervising Educational Psychologist.
    • Contribute to service development through project work, research and evaluation.
