Our teams

“There’s quite a lot of freedom to set your own timetable and to get your tasks done in a way that you think is appropriate for you.”

Clare
Assistant Principal Educational Psychologist

We are an incredibly friendly and supportive team of 35 Educational Psychologists who work well together to support schools and settings, children, young people and families throughout West Sussex.

In addition to our 35 Educational Psychologists, we currently have 2 Assistant Psychologists and four trainees on placements with us.

There are four area teams: two based in Worthing and two in Horsham.

The educational psychology service is an integral part of the West Sussex SEND and Inclusion Service and supports the delivery of the council’s wellbeing strategy and Special Educational Needs and Disability strategy across educational settings, children, young people and families throughout West Sussex. The educational psychology service directly oversees the portage service and the mental health support teams in schools, with Education Psychologists playing an important role in both.

More information about the work we undertake can be found on our service pages: Educational Psychology Service | West Sussex Services for Schools.
