Census 2021

Find out about this year’s census.

The census is a survey that happens every ten years and gives us a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. This helps the Government and local authorities to plan and fund public services in your area.

Households received a letter with an access code allowing them to complete the census online on 21 March 2021.

Further details can be found at Census 2021 as well as the first results published on 28 June 2022 for phase one of Census 2021.

We have produced the bulletin below on the first data release relating to the population of West Sussex.
