A message from our Casual Bank Coordinator
“I have been managing the casual bank since April 2020, following a career in Human Resources in the private Health and Social Care sector. I have also in the past, worked for the NHS bank and my goal for the last two years has been to mirror this model with WSCC as much as possible, creating and maintaining a workforce of bank staff to support various teams within WSCC, but predominantly children’s and adults' social workers thus reducing the need for agency workers, which is a costly intervention.
"Each bank worker goes through the same onboarding journey as our permanent staff, and they are all very much treated as our own employees. We provide induction, continuing professional development (CPD), IT equipment and ongoing support.
"The casual bank is very popular with retirees, permanent leavers, parents, and students, to name a few, who benefit from the opportunity to work as much or as little as they like around their current commitments.
"There really is something for everyone and a very warm welcome awaits if you would like to find out more about joining our friendly team!”

A message from our Casual Bank Resourcing Officer
"I have previously worked over a number of years as both a Department Administration and Customer Service Manager in the private sector. Following a move to West Sussex I took up my current role in Casual Bank in November 2021. Having the incredible pleasure to work on the administrative side of the casual bank, I can see first-hand the many benefits it offers to those who wish to work flexibly and achieve a good work/life balance. Casual bank offers an extremely valuable opportunity to align personal life with the ability to work truly flexible hours."
