How to report graffiti.

Graffiti can appear on many types of property and different organisations are responsible for removing it. Here's how to report it.

Reporting graffiti to West Sussex County Council

The county council is responsible for removing graffiti from:

  • road signs
  • pavements
  • subways

 You can also report other road or pavement problems to the county council.

Reporting graffiti to your local district or borough council

Local district and borough councils are responsible for removing graffiti from:

  • public buildings
  • monuments
  • benches
  • bins
  • private property
  • bus shelters
  • public toilets
  • parks and playgrounds

They aim to do it within 5 working days of it being reported, or one working day if it is offensive.

Report to your local district and borough council

Graffiti on other property (managed by other organisations)

For utility boxes or substations, contact the company that owns the equipment (for example, your electricity or broadband provider).

For railway property, report to Network Rail.
