Report an environmental problem

How to report an environmental issue to your district or borough council, including dog fouling, food hygiene, housing conditions, noise and pest control.

Local district or borough councils (and not the County Council) are responsible for dealing with environmental health problems about, for example:

  • dangerous or stray dogs and dog fouling
  • food hygiene and safety
  • housing conditions and standards
  • licensing and permits
  • noise
  • pest control
  • pollution, air and water quality.

However, you can report farm animal carcasses online or by phoning Trading Standards on 01243 642124.
