Report fly-tipping

How to report fly-tipping in your local area.

Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste or rubbish. This can be on a roadside, in the countryside or on private land.

The law imposes a duty on people to ensure that waste is disposed of properly. The law also requires us to ensure that the people we give our waste to dispose of it in a proper and safe way. This is called Duty of Care.

You can find further information and report fly-tipping on public land through your district or borough council.

West Sussex County Council are only responsible for managing obstructions on the highway. If the issue you are reporting is not a danger and causing an obstruction to a road or pavement, please contact the relevant district and borough council.

If fly-tipping is causing an obstruction on a West Sussex highway, please phone 01243 642105.
