Report graffiti

How to report graffiti in your area.

Graffiti can appear on many types of property. The owner of the property is responsible for removing it. Here's how you can report it.

Reporting graffiti to West Sussex County Council

West Sussex County Council clears graffiti from things we are responsible for, such as:

  • road signs
  • pavements
  • subways

You can also report other road or pavement problems to the county council.

Many items on or near public roads don’t belong to the county council. This includes things such as:

  • public buildings
  • monuments
  • benches
  • bins
  • private property
  • bus shelters
  • public toilets
  • parks and playgrounds

It isn’t possible to give a complete list of who owns each thing, but you can use the postcode finders below to contact your local district, borough, parish, or town council for help.

Enter your postcode below and follow the link to your local council's website to find out how to report graffiti.

Report to your local district and borough council Report to your local parish or town council

The county council works with district, borough, parish and town councils to remove racist and offensive graffiti from highway property in local areas. We don’t usually remove other graffiti unless we have funding available.

You can report graffiti on railway property to Network Rail.
