Find out what goods and equipment we check, verify and inspect and how much we charge for advice.

We also:

  • inspect and test goods sold by weight and measure
  • test retail packaged goods and the systems that are used in the manufacturing process
  • test retail goods ranging from food items to road fuel and home heating oil deliveries
  • check the quantity of goods delivered to businesses.

Details of this chargeable service are on our charges page. Alternatively, visit GOV.UK for further information on units of measure and the law.
