The County Council's Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) policy identifies how others can be actively involved in preparing the documents to be included in:
- the Minerals and Waste Development Scheme
- consultation of planning applications.
The preparation of documents has to comply with the adopted SCI. Failure to comply could mean that an inspector may recommend that a draft document is withdrawn.
Our SCI was first adopted in March 2007, and second review adopted in June 2012. Recent changes to planning regulations require SCIs be reviewed every five years, and to include information on how we are involved in the neighbourhood planning process.
The third (draft) SCI review was published for a period of six weeks to allow comments to be made on its contents. The third review SCI was approved by the County Council on 10 October 2018, replacing the second review SCI.
