Author events this summer at West Sussex Libraries

West Sussex Libraries is delighted to announce a series of exciting events throughout June and July 2023 featuring bestselling and award-winning authors.

Celebrated crime writer Leigh Russell will be visiting the Bognor Regis Library on Wednesday, 7 June for an engaging discussion about her popular Geraldine Steel detective series and Poppy Mystery Tales. As part of National Crime Reading Month, Leigh will delve into her creative process and inspiration behind her bestselling novels. Leigh, a Fellow of the Royal Literary Fund and Chair of Judges for the Crime Writers' Association Debut Dagger Award, will follow her talk with a book sale (cash only) and signing. The event starts at 6.30pm with tickets priced at £3, they can be purchased from Bognor Regis Library or by calling 01243 382 470.

The excitement continues as we welcome Isabel Ashdown to Worthing Library on Wednesday, 14 June. Coinciding with the release of her ninth novel, Homecoming, Isabel will discuss her career in writing as part of the Worthing Festival. Homecoming, set in a gated community in Dorset, promises intrigue and suspense, as dark secrets lie in wait beneath the surface. The event begins at 7.00pm, tickets are £3 and are available from Worthing Library or by calling 01903 704809. A book sale and signing will follow.

Finally, on Tuesday, 11 July, join us at Chichester Library for an evening with million-copy bestselling author Cara Hunter. In anticipation of her new stand-alone crime novel, Murder in the Family, Cara will share insights into her writing journey and the critically acclaimed Oxford-based DI Adam Fawley series. Following the talk, a book sale by St Olav Christian Bookshop will be conducted. This event is part of the Festival of Chichester 2023, it begins at 6.30pm and tickets are available for £5.00 from the Chichester Box Office online or by calling 01243 816525.
