Nature Recovery Fund
The Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) sets out how we can work together to help nature recover across West Sussex. It identifies where action is most needed, helps direct funding to the right places and supports communities and wildlife to adapt to climate change.
West Sussex County Council has created a £725,000 Nature Recovery Fund to support practical projects that deliver the priorities of the Local Nature Recovery Strategy and improve nature across West Sussex.
Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to £100,000 for each project through an open application process.
The fund is open to:
- registered charities
- parish and town councils
- Community Interest Companies (CICs)
- other constituted non-profit organisations
- public bodies
We will assess applications through a grant process overseen by a council programme board. The Service Director for Environment and Public Protection will make funding decisions in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change.
We will publish details of successful applicants and their projects on this page when the fund opens.
