  • Date: Third Saturday of every month
    Time: 10.00am at Southwick
    Venue: Southwick Recreation Ground and playground, Brighton Road, Shoreham-by-Sea, BN43 5LT
    Tickets: Available for multiple dates from eventbrite.

    Volunteers are needed to come and help with weeding, clearing, watering and mulching depending on the weather. In November and December we will be planting saplings.

    Venue: Knepp Estate, Shipley, West Sussex, RH13 8LJ
    Tickets (Non-refundable): CPRE Sussex. £7.00. Children free. Available from Eventbrite. We advise pre-booking, as admission is limited.

    Come and celebrate our wonderful countryside! In the countryside, beside Knepp’s new Swallow restaurant, we will be celebrating
    CPRE Sussex’s 50th birthday and our work protecting and promoting the countryside and all it offers.

    There will be a host of countryside produce and crafts stalls to see and lots of activities and talks to enjoy. There will be a dedicated area for children and teens to explore and understand more about the countryside, where our food comes from and how we can build homes so that we, and nature flourish.

    You will also be able to explore Knepp through the estate network of footpaths.

    Please note:

    • the ground at Knepp is uneven throughout
    • dogs are welcome on leads
    • there is ample parking onsite
    • there is limited disabled parking
    • facilities are available.

    Travel

    • Road - Turn off the A24 for Dial Post. The entrance is almost immediate. Look for a large metal sign ‘Knepp’ with a butterfly or follow the Countryside Day signage.
    • Bus - The 23 bus runs along the A24 between Horsham and Worthing.
      Our closest stops are Steyning Road and Perryland Farm, but for this stop you would need to walk along the A24 for 0.5 mile.
    • Rail - The closest train stations are Billingshurst (8.3 miles), Horsham (8.9 miles - there is a taxi rank outside Horsham station.) and Christ’s Hospital (9 miles).
