Volunteers
Volunteer countryside ranger
Volunteer countryside rangers support Buchan Country Park throughout the year with practical habitat management, site maintenance and biological surveying.
A countryside ranger usually leads the work, but it can also be self-led. Two volunteer groups work in the park on a regular basis, the weekly Thursday Group, and 'Get Grubby' who meet on the first Sunday of the month.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer countryside ranger at Buchan Country Park, or at our other countryside sites, visit our volunteering page.
Please note that we cannot always guarantee a volunteer space is available because there is a limit to the size of each group we work with.
The Friends of Buchan Country Park
The Friends of Buchan Country Park are a group of volunteers who have organised events and fundraising for the park.
This activity plays a key role in public engagement and securing small grants which go directly to the running of the park.
If you are interested in joining The Friends of Buchan Country Park, we would like to hear from you. Please email us at countryside@westsussex.gov.uk.
