Bus travel to Buchan Country Park

Taking the bus is a great and environmentally friendly way to travel to the park. Bus routes to the park are:

  • from Bewbush, you can take the route 3, 23 or 200 and get off at Dorsten Square stop
  • from Broadfield, you can take the route 1 or Fastway 10 and get off at Pelham Drive stop

From there, you can follow the signs and pathways leading to the park. The walk to the park can take approximately 10 minutes.

Management and byelaws

West Sussex County Council purchased the site in 1969, and Buchan Country Park was officially opened to the public in 1982.

The park is designated a Local Wildlife Site (LWS) and is of national importance for its dragonfly populations. In 1985 the lakes and surrounds were designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Use of the country park is governed by the byelaws below.
