Get help to find work

We offer eligible applicants up to 12 months one-to-one support with an employment specialist. They will work with you to help you find a job.

For people currently employed, we'll offer up to 4 months of in work support including mentoring and advocating with your employer.

The government fully funds the Connect to Work programme, and taking part is completely voluntary.

Who can apply

To apply for Connect to Work, you will need to:

  • be 18 years old or over
  • live in West Sussex
  • be either unemployed or at risk of losing your job
  • have a health condition or disability, or be a member of a group facing complex barriers to employment, such as:
    • carers or ex-carers
    • people who are currently homeless
    • people who are in care or who have experience of care
    • refugees, resettled Afghans, or individuals on the Homes for Ukrainian Scheme
    • people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence or abuse
    • people who have been forced into modern slavery
    • young people involved in or at risk of being involved in serious violence
    • members or former members of His Majesty’s Armed Forces, or their partners
    • people who find it hard to get or keep a job due to drug or alcohol dependency
    • people with lived experience of the criminal justice system

We have a specialist service supporting young people who want to work but are facing challenges in finding employment. If you are aged 18 to 25 and have a mental or physical health condition, disability or other barrier, please get in touch.
