1 About us
The Community Hub was established in March 2020 to support residents of West Sussex ensuring all had access to food and essential supplies during the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Community Hub continues to offer assistance to those who need additional help and support or who are experiencing hardship by providing information, advice and guidance.
The Community Hub receives and processes general support enquiries 365 days a year, as well as more specific queries and applications around the schemes it supports. Currently these include the Household Support Fund, the Homes for Ukraine Scheme and Smoke Free West Sussex.
2 Homes for Ukraine
West Sussex County Council (WSCC) is supporting eligible families, couples and individuals leaving Ukraine in response to the current situation in the country.
The Community Hub helps hosts and their guests by carrying out safeguarding checks, sharing local area information and offering advice and guidance about the Homes for Ukraine Scheme. It acts as the main point of contact for support and information.
3 Household Support Fund

From 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, the UK Government is providing funding through the Household Support Fund.
The fund’s main goal is to help vulnerable households in urgent need by covering the cost of essential items. It also aims to provide early support to stop families from reaching crisis point or falling deeper into financial difficulty.
The Community Hub is currently responsible for administering the application-based element of the fund.
