School uniform and jewellery

Guidance on school uniform, jewellery policy and school insurance.

School uniform

School governing bodies, together with the headteacher, staff and parents, decide whether the school should have a uniform policy.

We do not provide money to help parents pay for children's uniforms.

If you have a complaint about school uniform or dress codes, please raise it through our complaints process.

See also GOV.UK for information about school uniform.

Jewellery

The wearing of jewellery is normally restricted for health and safety reasons. Check with your child's school as it should have a jewellery policy included in its prospectus.

Schools do not have insurance to cover personal property so items of this nature need to be covered by the owner's home insurance.

Contact the school

If you have any queries about school uniform, personal property or jewellery, contact your child's school.
