About the room

This magnificent 1930's building, with its beautiful, twin marble staircases, boasts a charismatic charm and offers a unique setting for your wedding.

Ceremonies take place in the historic Council Chamber where the traditional leather horseshoe shaped seating gives an intimate feel.

Selected Fridays subject to availability.

Room viewings

If you wish to view the room, it is open on Mondays from 1.00pm to 2.00pm without an appointment.

Parking

There is a drop off zone for one chauffeured wedding car adjacent to the town hall - the car will need to park elsewhere for the duration of the ceremony.

Wedding guests and your wedding car can park in nearby public car parks.

Disabled parking

There are three disabled parking bays to the rear of the Town Hall.

Accessibility

There is step free access into the building.

The ceremony room is on the first floor and is accessible by lift or stairs.

Other information

There are facilities to play music from CDs, mobile phones or tablets. One of your guests will need to operate this. They will also need to arrive at least 15 minutes before the ceremony to test that it is working.

You can:

• video your ceremony.
• take photographs inside and outside
• use biodegradable confetti outside the venue

Pets are not allowed.

Disabled access

The venue has lift access internally to take guests to the first floor as well as ramp access externally into the building.

Due to the steps to the centre of the Council Chamber where the couple make their vows, there is a removable ramp that couples with access requirements are able to use.
