Naming and welcoming ceremonies
About naming or welcoming ceremonies
We offer naming and welcoming ceremonies performed by our trained and experienced registrars.
Whilst these ceremonies have no legal status, they offer a fabulous way to celebrate a new addition to or joining of families.
A naming ceremony acts as a non-religious alternative to traditional religious ceremonies such as baptism.
Welcoming ceremonies provide a way to celebrate the commitment of adoption or uniting of two families from past relationships.
Why would I want a naming or welcoming ceremony?
These ceremonies can be used to:
- welcome a child after a birth or adoption
- unite two families from previous relationships
- let couples make a public commitment to their children.
If you want to celebrate and publicly dedicate to your new family dynamic without religious ties, they are a wonderful way to gather friends and family to do so.
