Planning school places

Read and comment on the 2021 Planning school places document.

The Planning school places 2021 document sets out the policies and principles of the County Council. It provides information on current organisation and future forecasts of pupil numbers and provisional plans for where additional school places will be made available.

There is information for school leaders and other interested parties, such as district and borough planning departments and housing developers, about the supply and demand for school places in West Sussex maintained schools, academies and free schools.

Please note that all data relates to Autumn Term 2020.

Update April 2021

Please note that, following a review, schools that provide a nursery will have these children included in the Number on Roll (NOR) figures quoted in line with the Autumn School census, where applicable. This has resulted in higher than expected NOR totals for this version of the booklet. Future editions will, as in previous years, exclude nursery class numbers.
