Save the date for Shoreham Fire Station’s open day

Release date: 2 August 2023

Live fire demonstrations, a behind-the-scenes look at the work of our Technical Rescue Unit and the chance to meet your local firefighters – it’s all on offer at Shoreham Fire Station’s open day.

Crews are looking forward to welcoming the local community to the station on Saturday 26 August from 10am until 4pm.

Throughout the day visitors can expect to see a range of demonstrations from the duty crew and Technical Rescue Unit including the 30-metre aerial ladder platform.

A variety of food and drink stalls offering refreshments will be available with all proceeds going to The Fire Fighters Charity to support firefighters and their families.

Station Manager, Neil Fairhall, said: “We are excited to welcome the community we serve to our station for what promises to be a fun-filled day.

“There will be plenty to see and do for all ages including demonstrations, fairground rides, stalls, a raffle, and face painting.

“We will also be joined by our emergency service colleagues from Sussex Police, the RNLI, and St John Ambulance who will be offering a range of safety advice.

“This is a great opportunity to bring the family along to experience a day in the life of a working fire station and learn more about the work we do.

“Our station doors on Stoney Lane will open at 10am. We hope to see lots of people there.”
