It is part of the Go All In festival to celebrate the National Year of Reading, which is designed to inspire more people to make books a regular part of their lives by reading about the things they enjoy, like sport or films.
Starting in September, the free festival is aimed at young people aged 13 and over.
In-person and live-streamed author events include hit historian, broadcaster and author Greg Jenner on Tuesday 22 September at 6.30pm at Crawley Library and award-winning and best-selling Irish author and poet Sarah Crossan on Wednesday 7 October at 6.30pm at Worthing Library.
Other activities to look out for include creative writing workshops and crafternoons.
Free tickets for all activities events go live online on Tuesday 1 September.
West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member for community support, fire and rescue, Councillor Tracie Bangert, said: “This festival is going to be so exciting. All the events and activities are aimed specifically at young people.
“The message we want to get across is ‘Get more out of what you’re into!’ Whatever you’re into, make reading a part of it. Love sport? Read about your favourite teams and sports stars. A film buff? Discover the true stories that inspired the films.
“There’s something for everyone and our libraries are here to prove it. Libraries are the perfect place to explore new titles, with jam-packed shelves to suit every interest.”
The Go All In festival has been made possible thanks to National Lottery money from Arts Council England.
