Criminal convictions

Owing to the nature of its activities, this role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and its associated Order. This means you need to disclose details of any warnings, reprimands, cautions and convictions which would not be removed as part of the police filtering process when carrying out a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. See GOV.UK for guidance on this update service (opens in a new window).

You will have the opportunity to discuss these details during your interview. You will also be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check before you can proceed as a volunteer.
