Volunteer support for hobbies and interests - Adult Residential Service

Supporting hobbies and interests at the WSCC Hobbs Field residential home, Horsham.

  • Accountable to: The Manager
  • Grade: Unpaid

Are you a people person and do you have a few hours to spare each week? If so, you may wish to come along and spend some time with us at Hobbs Field assisting people with their hobbies and interests within their own home. These may include:

  • art/craft
  • computers skills (including Zoom chat rooms)
  • gardening
  • cards/dominoes indoor and outdoor skills games
  • photography
  • sports or general life
  • independent life skills.

Role description

Skills required

  • No lone working or personal care - you will always be supported by a member of staff in any activity.
  • Ability to motivate and act as a role model.
  • Friendly and conscientious nature.
  • Good communicator.
  • Creative and collaborative approach with people.

Details of duties

  • To provide a small group activity to people who live at Hobbs Field.
  • To ensure that the activity is carried out as planned.
  • To ensure the health and safety of people at all times and to report any concerns to the manager or senior on duty.
  • To ensure that people are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
  • To maintain the confidentiality of people at all times.
  • To safeguard vulnerable adults at all times.
  • To undertake in-house training and basic induction as required.

Experience

  • Team working.
  • Being person focused.
  • Ability to work with individuals with different abilities.
