Ceremonies at Edes House
Important information
Edes House is undergoing restoration between 29 July and 30 November 2024. During this time, ceremonies may only be held in The Oak Room in County Hall.
The Edes House events team work closely with West Sussex Ceremonies to plan your perfect event.
Marriages and civil partnerships
These are legally binding ceremonies that can only be held in licensed rooms and performed by registrars. Our licensed rooms are detailed below.
Celebratory ceremonies
You may wish to celebrate a significant life event, such as renewing your vows or welcoming a new child to your family, with a ceremony. Hold your ceremony here and we can arrange for one of our experienced registrars to lead it for you.
Ceremony charges
The cost of a ceremony at Edes House is greater than the standard hire rate of the same room for an alternate function. This is because of the additional costs involved, including:
- attendance of a registrar to perform your ceremony
- additional administration requirements.
Celebration packages
Add a little extra sparkle to your special day with a drinks reception before or after your ceremony.
