About probation

When you will need the Probation Service, how your personal advisor will help and contact details for teams in West Sussex.

Probation is when you are serving part of your sentence outside of prison. This might happen when:

  • you are serving a community sentence
  • you have left prison on licence or on parole

Sussex Probation

Each Sussex probation team has probation officers who work with 18 to 25 year olds. Your probation officer will work with you to make sure you successfully complete your sentence.
