Do not dispose of thermometers at home.
You should dispose of digital thermometers as waste electrical and electronic equipment. Other thermometers, which may contain mercury, should be disposed as hazardous household waste.

Take out any removable batteries from thermometers before disposal and recycle them in a battery container.
You must dispose of thermometers that contain mercury according to instructions of staff on site.
