Careers in the Adults Commissioning Service

The Adults Commissioning Service is a key part of the Adults Services Directorate in West Sussex County Council. It helps to ensure that people can access appropriate and good quality services which enables them to live their lives as independently as possible. Our service is split into three areas:

• Older People Services - commissioning services and solutions that support people at home where possible. It also includes residential services for people with complex needs who are no longer able to live in their own home and a range of services that support people when they are discharged from hospital.
• Lifelong and Working Age Mental Health Services - ensures people with lifelong conditions or disabilities and those with mental health issues are supported in home-based and residential services.
• Enablement and Independence Services - supports people to remain independent and include areas such as carers support, reablement and equipment, as well as providing quality assurance and support for the care provider market.

As a service, we proactively engage with people and organisations to improve the services and solutions available. We think creatively to develop innovative solutions and respond to challenging circumstances. We listen and do not exclude or treat people unfairly. We reflect on our practice and we are constantly learning.

We have recently reorganised our Adults Commissioning Service to ensure that we have the right structure and people to deliver our strategy and ambitions, which is why we currently have exciting opportunities to come and join our dedicated and passionate teams.

We are looking for people who have a real focus on developing customer centred services that support people to remain as independent as possible and to live the lives they want to lead.

You will be solution-focused with the ability to think creatively. With highly developed communication skills, you will also be excellent at working collaboratively and in partnership with others to be able to achieve the best outcomes.
