Applying for a job with us
To apply for an adults' social work vacancy you must:
- hold a social work qualification
- be registered with Social Work England
- hold a valid and full driving licence or ability to travel around the county independently
- have Disclosure and Barring Service clearance.
Casual bank
Since launching in 2018, our casual bank for social work has gone from strength to strength. We are giving social workers the opportunity to work in a different way, offering flexible assignments to help them take back control over how and when they work, and supporting our teams within adults' social care when there is an additional need.
We have seen former social workers return from retirement, maternity/paternity leave or career breaks, and social workers from out of the county who want to experience West Sussex without having to commit to a permanent role. The casual bank has enabled us to utilise the skills, experience and expertise without losing them, and support case-holding social workers by picking up parts of their case load or a particular assessment.
