West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service partner and sponsorship opportunities

Your support could really make a difference.

1 Become a partner/sponsor

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service (WSFRS) is highly recognised and respected throughout West Sussex and beyond. However, we are facing considerable financial challenges. As a result, we are actively trying to create solutions that can support the future of valued initiatives, but our efforts will not be possible, or reach maximum effectiveness, without support.

We work extremely hard to keep people, businesses and visitors to our county safe through a range of activities, in addition to providing an emergency response.

It is our aim to continue to provide an extensive range of services in spite of the challenging financial climate. This means that we need to find smarter ways of working and includes making partnership and sponsorship opportunities available.

We are keen to work with partners and/or sponsors who want to support our work and are proud to have a relationship with our brand.

2 WSFRS recognition and achievement awards

WSFRS hosts an annual awards ceremony in which both fire service staff and members of the community are given awards for exceptional achievements.

The awards are attended by on average 120 firefighters, police officers, volunteers, members of the public, as well as family members. The Lord Lieutenant and High Sheriff, along with the Leader of West Sussex County Council and Cabinet Member for the Fire Service, are invited to attend the ceremony.

In addition, senior fire staff, retained officers and new recruits all support the celebration of achievement.

We are pleased to be planning our forthcoming awards ceremonies at Arundel Castle (see dates below).

3 United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO)

A decrease in rescue related emergencies are indicated in the national statistics. However, the impact and severity of these incidents are on the increase. As a result, fire and rescue services across the country are continually challenged in their need to remain ready to respond.

The United Kingdom Rescue Organisation (UKRO) was formed over 30 years ago. It is run by practitioners from within fire and rescue and medical sectors with a passion for advancing professional rescue. UKRO develop learning and share exemplary experiences in the rescue environment across the UK and internationally.

In addition, UKRO provide many emergency services benefits, for example:

  • annual training events
  • competitions
  • staff skills development
  • networking
  • digital tools.

WSFRS recognises UKRO opportunities in relation to our service Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), for example, leadership development, staff knowledge and practical skills. All of these assist the delivery of our CRMP objectives, goals and desired outcomes.

The learning obtained from UKRO engagement aims to be shared throughout WSFRS, developing our teams and firefighters in the disciplines of water rescue, rope rescue, trauma care and vehicle extrication.

WSFRS is pleased to be entering the 2023 UKRO annual event, which presents an opportunity for businesses to be involved. Your support could make a big difference to our service.
