Youth Offending Parenting Support Team

Support for parents of young people aged 10-18.

The Parenting Support Team work with parents whose children have offended, or who are at risk of offending, or who are becoming disengaged from education and training.

We work directly with parents, not with children, and offer two types of support:

  • 1-to-1 support
  • Family Futures parenting support groups.

1-to-1 support

We offer six free sessions which last about one hour and take place with you in your home.

You will be contacted by a Parenting Support Officer who will talk to you about your current situation before discussing your needs in detail and what you want get out of the support sessions.

To access the service you can be referred by a professional who is working with you, or you can contact us directly.

  • If you live in Chichester, Bognor, Littlehampton, Worthing or Shoreham phone 033 022 23149.
  • If you live in Horsham, Crawley or Mid Sussex phone 033 022 28581.

Family Futures parenting support groups

These monthly groups, which are run throughout West Sussex, offer parents the space to share advice and their experiences in a supportive environment.

You are eligible if your child is showing challenging behaviour, at risk of offending or is excluded from school.

To access the service you can be referred by a professional who is working with you. If your child is being seen by a Youth Offending Service worker you can also ask them for a referral.
