Sensory rooms and toys and toy libraries

Find sensory rooms, sensory toy libraries and toy libraries to support children and young people and their families, across West Sussex.

Sensory rooms

Located in Best Start Family Hubs across West Sussex, our sensory rooms provide a calm and engaging space where children can explore different senses, including touch, sight and sound.

Some family hubs also have a Magic Carpet. This interactive sensory projection system uses games, music and activities to engage children and young people of all ages.

Sensory rooms are free to use for children and young people aged 0 to 25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Find out more about the sensory rooms at your local Best Start Family Hub.

Sensory toy libraries

Our Best Start Family Hubs offer sensory toy libraries items that you can borrow free of charge.
