Health, the police and the County Council work together through West Sussex Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSSCP) to shape arrangements that protect children and young people across the county.
Although aimed primarily at professionals, family members or young people can also find out what to do if you are worried and looking for information.
The Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) should be contacted in all cases in which it is alleged that a staff member has:
- behaved in a way that has harmed a child or may have harmed a child
- possibly committed a criminal offence against or related to a child
- behaved towards a child or children in a way that indicates he or she would pose a risk of harm to children
- behaved or may have behaved in a way that indicates they may not be suitable to work with children
Report any such concerns using the LADO referral form on the West Sussex Safeguarding Children Partnership (WSSCP) website.
