Family hubs offer a range of activities and support to parents and carers, for children and families. Many hubs are open for you to drop in and play during our opening hours.
You can also pop in, or phone, to speak to our friendly staff and access information, advice and guidance on a whole range of issues affecting you and your family.
We also have public access computers to use, free of charge.
Family information and advice
You will find assistants in all our hubs, either on our front desks or helping with healthy child clinics and play sessions.
We can help you with:
- finding childcare
- applying for free childcare entitlement
- finding local activities and support services
- pregnancy and early child development
- health advice for you and your family
- housing and homelessness (how to access local housing services)
- advice on how to get legal help
- personal finance and the benefits you may be entitled to.
Find it Out offer
Our ‘Find it Out’ offer is available to all young people in West Sussex aged between 11-19. We also support young people up to 25 who have additional needs or have experienced care.
We can provide you with information, advice and guidance by answering any questions you may have. We can help you find local services, make referrals and talk about your needs.
If we can’t find the right service to support you, or you need some further support but your family doesn’t, we can offer up to five sessions with one of our staff members who will work directly with you on what you require support with. We will provide tailored sessions designed to achieve the positive outcomes you want to focus on.
We also offer whole family working that supports everyone in your home and gets everyone working together with your consent, if that is what you need.

Activities and services
Understanding your child
We offer a 10-week programme that aims to support parents in building positive and responsive relationships with their children. Find out what works for you and your child. Speak to a member of staff in one of our hubs to find out more.
Break 4 Change
This programme aims to support parents, carers and young people in building healthy relationships. It helps families break patterns where a young person in the home is:
- controlling the home environment
- being violent, aggressive or disrespectful towards the parent
- making threats.
Parents and young people must be willing to make changes in how they communicate. Contact the service for support by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Domestic abuse support
If you feel unsafe in your relationship there is a lot of support available. Speak to a member of staff in one of our hubs or visit our domestic abuse web pages.
This is a free, 12-week rolling programme open to any woman who wants to learn more about the reality of domestic abuse. West Sussex sessions are organised by Safe in Sussex and are an hour and a half long. To find out more:
Healthy child clinics
Drop-in clinics where you can talk to health visitors about any concerns you may have about your child. You can also weigh your child during the clinic and you will be advised as to which stages in their development it is recommended to do this.
Milk! is a drop-in breastfeeding support group. Get together with other mums in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. If you are pregnant and would like information regarding breastfeeding, feel free to drop in.
Family Information Service
You can find a range of services and activities for young people on the Family Information Service website. Select the 'Young people' tile to find out what is available near you.
Your Space is a website aimed at 11-25 year olds. It’s a place they can find out about all the things that are important to them in their life right now.
