Information for employers

Skills Bootcamps are developed with industry and are an effective and affordable way to develop your workforce or to recruit new employees.

Can Skills Bootcamps help with recruitment?

Yes - Bootcamps are an excellent recruitment tool helping you to find local, work-ready talent with the skills set that your business needs.

The first Skills Bootcamps to be commissioned by the council, commencing Spring 2025, will address targeted skills needs identified by employers and sectors in West Sussex.

Can Skills Bootcamps upskill existing employees?

Yes - Bootcamps are a great way to upskill your staff. By supporting an employee to enrol on a Bootcamp you could address skills gaps, encourage staff retention and help future-proof your organisation.

For employers enrolling staff onto a Bootcamp there is a contribution. For small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs with fewer than 250 employees) there is a 10% contribution. For larger employers with over 250 employees, the contribution is 30% of Bootcamp costs.

What if our skills gaps are not covered by Bootcamps?

If the Skills Bootcamps, launching in Spring 2025, do not address your current skills gaps, training providers may be able to design a course specific to your needs.
