Pothole repairs data

This data shows information on pothole repair jobs that have been completed within each of the priority categories. The accepted response time for pothole repairs is as follows:

• Category 1 within 2 hours
• Category 2 within 24 hours
• Category 3 within 5 days
• Category 4 within 28 days.

While category 4 potholes make up the large majority of the defects we have reported to us, over the winter months, particularly when there are extreme weather events such as prolonged periods of rain, the number of higher priority potholes identified increases.

This has a big impact on highways operations due to the need to reallocate resources to fix these problems as quickly as possible.
