Planning conditions

Apply to have planning conditions discharged, confirmed or removed.

Planning conditions are often applied when planning permission is granted. They limit and control the way that permission may be implemented.

Apply to discharge planning conditions

You may be granted planning permission subject to conditions that require approval of further details, such as material samples or proposed landscaping.

For minerals, waste and the County Council's own development (Regulation 3) please apply on the Planning Portal. You must register as a professional user to submit the application.

A fee is charged per application, regardless of when the permission was granted and irrespective of the number of conditions to be discharged. No additional fees will be charged while we discuss with you how to get the necessary information for us to be able to make a decision.

If you wish to revise details that have already been approved for a condition we will charge a further fee.

Apply for the removal or variation of a condition

You can apply to have a condition attached to your planning permission removed or varied by making a planning application.

Pay fees

You can pay the fees either online or by cheque.

To pay online, go to Online payments, select 'Miscellaneous', 'Planning' then 'Planning application fees including discharge'.

Make cheques payable to West Sussex County Council and send to the address below.
