-
Which RC container
- We have introduced separate containers for the disposal of single use and refillable vapes. Residents will be asked to leave their vapes in a collection tray and from there they will be safely dealt with by site staff.
-
Which RCs accept this waste
- All of our recycling centres accept vapes.
-
Safety information
- Disposable and refillable vapes must not be thrown away in your kerbside recycling or rubbish bins as they contain substances which are hazardous and must be disposed of in a controlled environment.
- Vapes also contain lithium batteries which are a fire hazard when disposed of incorrectly.
-
Further information
- Collection services for small electrical items such as vapes are offered by all of the district and borough councils in West Sussex. Find further information on these collections.
- Some supermarkets also collect disposable vapes for recycling.

You could also
- If you’re using a disposable vape, why not swap to a reusable one? They offer the same experience, however they can be recharged and refilled and used again and again.
