How to dispose of coffee pods.

A mix of coffee pod brands

All our Recycling Centres accept coffee pods for recycling.

Do not use your household recycling bin. This is because they are made from mixed materials and are difficult to separate and clean.

  • Which RC container

    Use the coffee pod containers.

    You will find 2 coffee pod containers at our Recycling Centres - one for aluminium pods and one for plastic pods. Make sure you:

    • drain any liquid from the pods before recycling them
    • separate your plastic pods from your aluminium pods
    • place the pods into the appropriate container
  • Which RC accept this waste

    All our Recycling Centres accept coffee pods.

    Use the Podback scheme.

    If you live in Horsham district, your local council partners with Podback to collect coffee pods in your kerbside recycling - for more information visit the Horsham DIstrict Council website.

    Elsewhere in West Sussex, you can drop-off your pods at Costa Coffee or Asda branches. Get Podback bags at branches of Costa Coffee to use the drop-off service there. For drop-offs at Asda you must order bags, free of charge, from Podback. For more information and to order bags, visit the Podback website.
