NFCC waste fire tactical advisor course

We deliver this Skills for Justice accredited course in line with National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) expectations. It gives people the skills and knowledge to be become waste fire tactical advisors. You will learn how to support operational commanders during waste fire incidents. You will also understand how to develop engagement with key partners such as the Environment Agency, waste operators and local authorities. Successful delegates are recognised national resilience assets who may mobilise to assist fire and rescue services throughout the UK.

  • Course content

    The course covers:

    • environmental considerations and risk management
    • fire fighting tactics for waste fires
    • heavy plant operations and safety
    • multi-agency co-ordination and preparedness
    • strategic engagement with key stakeholders for prevention and resilience
  • Location

    The course takes place at in the training centre at Platinum House, Horsham Fire Station.

  • Duration

    This is a 5 day course.

  • Number of attendees

    The maximum number of attendees is 12.

  • Price

    The cost of this course is £2,000 per head. This includes local overnight hotel accommodation, breakfast, lunch and refreshments. Evening meal and drinks are at your own expense.
