Fire safety: Schools

Aimed at staff in education settings, including nurseries, schools, colleges and more, this course provides an overview of general fire safety, the different types of fire extinguishers and an understanding of roles and responsibilities of fire wardens, as well as the opportunity to use portable firefighting equipment on a live, controlled fire.

  • Course summary

    Recommended for all staff, this course includes trainer-led presentation including industry specific case studies, group discussions and practical activities to give a comprehensive understanding of your role and responsibilities both in preparation for and in the event of a fire incident.

  • Learning outcomes

    You will learn:

    • to understand how fires start and spread
    • recognition of common causes of fire and how to mitigate
    • to identify the different types of extinguishers and their uses
    • an understanding of the fire warden's role in your workplace
    • practical experience of using firefighting equipment
  • Location

    We provide this course at West Sussex fire stations.

  • Duration

    The course is a 3 hour session.

  • Number of attendees

    The maximum number of attendees is 15.

  • Price

    The cost of this course is £145 per head.
