Incident command training for fire services staff

This training is based on award winning research led by Chief Fire Officer, Dr Sabrina Cohen Hatton, Cardiff University and the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC). By simulating emergencies we challenge and improve your teamwork, command and control skills.

    The training is aimed at:

    • firefighters aspiring to take on leadership roles
    • current fire service officers'  to refresh and hone incident command knowledge

    The course aims to:

    • provide and improve effective leadership in critical moments
    • enable services to prioritise firefighter and public safety

    You can attend level 1 or level 2 of our industry leading training.

    You will:

    • practice real-world scenarios by training in simulated emergencies
    • practice high-pressure events
    • develop skills in critical incident command including teamwork, leadership, and resource management
    • gain valuable insight and reflect on your actions and decisions in the simulation
    • build self-awareness and improve future decision making
  • Location

    Training takes place at Platinum House, Horsham Fire Station.

    This is a centre of excellence housing extended virtual reality (XVR) technology to simulate emergencies and high pressure situations.
