Fire extinguisher

Recommended for all staff, this course gives an overview of fire safety awareness as well as key information about the different types of firefighting equipment available and their uses. Informative and engaging, the session also provides attendees the opportunity to use the most common types of fire extinguishers on a live, controlled fire.

  • Course summary

    This course includes trainer-led presentation, group discussions and practical activities to give a comprehensive understanding of your role and responsibilities both in preparation for and in the event of a fire incident.

  • Learning outcomes

    You will learn:

    • to understand how fires start and spread
    • recognition of common causes of fire and how to mitigate
    • to identify the different types of extinguishers and their uses
    • practical experience of using firefighting equipment
  • Location

    We provide this course at the following locations:

    • West Sussex fire stations
    • your premises
  • Duration

    The course is a 2 hour session with a practical exercise.

  • Number of attendees

    The maximum number of attendees is 15 when held at your premises.

  • Price

    The cost of this course is:

    • £90 per head when attending at a fire station
    • £485 when held at your premises
