Additional information

For ages 18+ years. We primarily cover all of Sussex and have members based further afield around the UK as well.
Activities include one or two full day walks each month and approximately 4 evening walks in the lighter evenings, mainly around Sussex. We also offer up to 8 hill-walking trips of between 2 and 10 days in the UK, visiting the main mountainous areas such as The Lake District, Eryri, (Snowdonia) and Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) with a week each year dedicated to Scotland and a more adventurous trip abroad annually. Places recently visited include: Corsica, the Brittany Coast, Crete and Ireland.
We hold a Summer BBQ and social each June and a Planning Meeting with a social every July, to suggest potential destinations for the following year's programme, and our AGM in November is another jolly occasion with wine and cheese and a photo show of the year's best bits so far!
See our website for photos of previous trips, latest details and our latest trip programme.
The club has been established for 39 years and is affiliated with the British Mountaineering Council. Prospective members are invited to join us on a day walk to ensure the pace and distances are compatible with expectations, and can then join us on a trip before committing to membership. Guests may participate free for an introductory three months provided that full contact details are registered with the Club. This will ensure that all participants are covered against third party claims on any of the Club’s outdoor trips. Guests who subsequently wish to join the Club must pay any remaining fee due for the year.
