Video Fluoroscopy (VF) service improvements

Health leaders progress and impact.

Highlights and key activities

We have fully updated the Video Fluoroscopy suite with new equipment and maintenance plans.

Clinicians have approved the new Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) service model. They have also carried out risk assessments for patients.

Health and commissioning teams now meet every month to review performance together.

Recruitment and job planning work is in progress to make sure the right specialist staff are available.

Impact on children and families

Waiting lists are stable and are expected to reduce significantly by early 2026.

Most families currently wait more than 6 weeks for an appointment, but waiting times are expected to improve over time.

Key priorities

Over the next 6 months, we will:

  • continue monthly meetings between hospital and commissioning leads
  • keep monitoring performance and patient safety
