Project work

Suggestions for learning through project work.

Many elective home education (EHE) families enjoy learning through projects and interest-led learning. These can be a great way to engage children in learning whilst covering a range of skills and curriculum areas.

This is a positive way to engage your child in learning that it is interesting to them. There are lots of ways they can record this learning, we have included some ideas below:

  • PowerPoint presentations
  • multi-media such as:
    • videos
    • animations
    • comics
  • blogs
  • scrapbooking
  • keeping a diary
  • project mood boards - often used for design or creative projects, these are a visual collection of images, text and other materials used to represent a specific style, theme, or concept

Twinkl have some pre-made templates you can use for project-based learning.

Here are some topics families have used for their child's learning:

  • animals, such as horses or family pets
  • make-up
  • gardening
  • cooking
  • cars or mechanics
  • sports, such as football or rugby
  • history
  • photography
