Get Online Week
What is Get Online Week?
Do you know someone who would like to get online and feel confident using the internet?
Or perhaps you’d like to improve your own digital skills and discover new ways to make the most of being online.
Whatever your starting point, support is available during Get Online Week (19 to 25 October), a national campaign organised by Good Things Foundation that aims to help people gain the skills, confidence and practical knowledge they need to make the most of the internet.
During the week, our libraries, along with community organisations and partners from the West Sussex Digital Inclusion, Access and Safety (DIAS) Partnership, are hosting a range of activities, support sessions and events.
Whether you'd like help using a smartphone, accessing online services, making video calls, staying safe online, or using apps on your phone, support is available across the county.
In today's world, being able to get online with confidence can open up new opportunities, create greater independence and help you stay connected to the things that matter most.
How the internet helps us
The internet can help us with many everyday tasks including:
- Keeping in touch with family and friends
- Managing appointments
- Finding information
- Applying for jobs
- Learning new skills and accessing local services
What's on in West Sussex?
Selected West Sussex libraries are holding drop-in sessions to help people download and use the NHS app.
Anyone coming for support with downloading the NHS app must bring photo ID, and their NHS number if they have it.
